What happened to Schmahl World Computer Assistance, LLC?  If you don’t know, read the previous home pages explaining a little bit of the history.  It’s been more than a year since I posted the last home page and now it is time for something fresh.

I might be retired now, but it’s hard to not help friends and share answers to common questions, post gripes/concerns, or share a piece of humor.  In the days of SWCA LLC I referred to them as “Canned Responses.”  I’m continuing to occasionally do so.  Browse the Personal and Fun Content or the Tech Stuff categories.  Let me know via the Contact page any ideas for additional content.

The most recent updates are: (to view more see the “What’s New or Updated” link).

May 21, 2024 – Replaced old code on the Tech Stuff/Internet Speed Tests page to remove the outdated Broadband Speed Checker with some open source code that can test beyond the 100Mbs limit of the Broadband Speed Checker speedometers.

March 22, 2024 – Removed Speedtest.net from the Further Reading and Useful Link section of the Tech Stuff/Internet Speed Tests page because of its tracking. It reportedly gathers info and sends it to 809 ad partners.

January 6, 2024 – Updated the Backup Strategies page by adding a section for cloud storage and a link in the Further Reading and Useful Link section.

Enoy!
