Working with firewalls and routers
that have network address translation
(NAT) can often be confusing when
troubleshooting or configuring unless
one knows what the address is as it is
seen by the Internet. There are
many sites that will show your public
Internet address, but
whatismyipaddress.com is
straightforward with a Google Map mashup
to show your location.

Here's what to do If your private
internal network address is needed and
you are a Windows user:
* From your taskbar click
Start.
* From Start's menu select Run.
* Type cmd into Run's text
box and click OK.
* After the command-line box
appears type ipconfig/all and
press your Enter key.
Your internal ip address will now be
displayed within the command-line box
alongside the computer's hostname,
subnet mask, default gateway, and more.
